Arbor Day is important to our planet and it’s important to University Loft Company. It’s also near and dear to University Loft’s CEO James Jannetides. Every year, Jannetides and ULoft find ways to celebrate Arbor Day, most often in the traditional sense – by planting trees. But it’s not just University Loft and our employees who put shovels into the ground and plant seedlings; we typically invite area high school students to help. This year was no exception, as more than 30 students from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis visited the University Loft Company headquarters in Greenfield, Indiana.
During their visit the students toured the company’s furniture showroom, manufacturing facility and warehouse, with Jannetides as their tour guide. After learning about University Loft Company and our commitment to producing top-quality student dorm room furniture, these future college students got down and dirty by planting white pine seedlings on the University Loft Company property. The trees planted this year will grow skyward very near those planted by students from years past.

School is a learning experience, but even while outside the classroom these high school students learned quite a bit about making their future college experience a great one AND about doing good things for the planet. These commitments drive University Loft Company in our never-ending quest for excellence and environmental responsibility; and we were honored to be able to share them with tomorrow’s leaders.
