University Loft Gives Thanks by Giving Back

At University Loft Company, we work hard to be more than just a top producer of the highest quality furniture for student housing. We also work hard to be a good corporate citizen and a good steward of the environment. That’s why, as I write this just before the Thanksgiving holiday, I am reminded of just a few of the ways University Loft gives back to make our world a better place.

For instance, as part of our Feed the Hungry Initiative, University Loft Chief Executive James Jannetides and ULoft employees work with our corporate pastor, Del Bock, to feed the homeless each week in downtown Indianapolis. We’ve served hundreds who might otherwise have gone hungry, and we invite other corporations to step up and help in the same way.

Another example of ULoft’s efforts to be a good citizen of our communities is our recent donation of a Graduate Series bunk bed to Mt. Comfort Elementary as part of a charity fundraising auction. Somewhere tonight someone is sleeping more comfortably, and a local school has more money to provide better education. It’s all good, and University Loft Company is proud to be able to help.

University Loft also gives back to our environment. In addition to using environmentally Farmed Timber (EFT) in our green solid wood furniture for student residences, ULoft participates in Arbor Day tree plantings to make sure that we add more trees to our environment than we take out.

These are just a few of the ways that University Loft gives back to our schools, our communities, and our environment. And the way we look at it, giving back is our way of giving thanks, now and throughout the year. What about you? How do you give back?
