I recently bought a couple of new music CDs (yes, I still buy CDs for the car because I get the cloud versions automatically): The Diving Board by Elton John and REVO by Walk Off The Earth. Certainly, these are artists at somewhat opposite ends of the musical spectrum in terms of their career arcs. Both albums (and yes, I still call them albums) are terrific. Elton – excuse me, SIR Elton – proves he’s still in top form as a songwriter with Bernie Taupin, as well as a mature singer and musician. Walk Off The Earth, meanwhile is a marvelous young band with an infectious sound and an album of songs you just can’t get out of your head. Again, both acts are amazing, one in fine form with a classic sound and the other completely modern and fresh.
