ULoft Furniture for University Housing: Student Tested, Furniture Buyer Approved

Remember Kix cereal? Heck, you might even have some in your pantry today. Here are a couple of things I find interesting about Kix: 1) it has stood the test of time, being commercially available since 1937; 2) it introduced the classic slogan, “Kid tested, mother approved” in 1978. Frankly, I see definite parallels between Kix cereal and University Loft furniture for college residences and on-campus dorm rooms. Here’s what I mean:

Like Kix, University Loft furniture has stood the test of time. In fact, University Loft furniture has now been serving college students with innovative, solid wood modular furniture for more than 25 years. ULoft founder James Jannetides built the first dorm room loft bed in the mid-1980s; and when he soon produced 400 similar units for students at Southern Illinois University, he filled a clear and pressing need: matching form with function to maximize space in cramped on-campus living quarters. But that was then; what about now? Why does University Loft remain so popular? Well, it could be due to our strong commitments to innovation, quality and the environment. You see, we don’t just build furniture; we help build futures. We are champions of comfortable student learning, American craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility. These principles have helped us stand the test of time, and we’re confident they will continue to serve us well for decades to come.

Another parallel between Kix cereal and University Loft furniture for student housing is that, whereas Kix is “Kid tested, mother approved,” ULoft college furniture is “student tested, university housing furniture buyer approved.” After all, with hundreds of thousands of University Loft beds, desks, dressers, chairs and accessories in more than 1,000 universities across America and around the world, it’s safe to say that ULoft furniture stands up to the rigors of student residence life. Maybe this daily student “testing” is yet another reason that university housing furniture buyers around the globe choose University Loft furniture year after year. Simply put, University Loft makes it easy for furniture buyers to look good and serve their customers (the students) so well.

Time tested. Student tested. Student housing furniture buyer approved. That’s University Loft furniture.

(Oh, and one other Kix/ULoft connection: I’m guessing that in college campuses across America, there are more than a few wayward cereal puffs hiding in the deep dark recesses of loft bed mattresses.)

Anyone else suddenly hungry?
