Arbor Day is just around the corner and University Loft Company looks forward to this celebration because it means that more trees will be planted across the United States. This is great for our environment. Strong trees make strong student furniture. Our fine university furniture comes from some of the most beautiful, strongest trees around, the Hevea Brasiliensis also known as Environmentally Farmed Timber (EFT).
ULC uses Hevea Brasiliensis because it is environmentally friendly timber (EFT).
It is interesting to note that the first American Arbor Day was celebrated on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. J. Sterling Morton’s idea to plant trees became a huge success and grand celebration. Today we observe Arbor Day across the US on the last Friday of April (some states celebrate earlier, some later depending upon the best planting time). Trees are an awesome part of our ecosystem; they act as windbreakers and help hold the soil in place in addition to giving shade on a hot summer day. Those are some of the reasons Arbor Day began.
