Happy Arbor Day! Are you planning to plant a tree today? Last year I planted a peach tree. Though it is still small, all of its leaves are out and it stands strong in the ground. I’m not sure that we will enjoy any fruit from it this season, but I’m hopeful. I plan to plant apple, lemon, grapefruit and maple seeds today. It exciting to watch the seedlings burst through the soil and grow into saplings. University Loft Company takes pleasure in planting saplings. As you know, we celebrated Arbor Day last week when students from Cathedral High School came to the facility in Greenfield, Indiana and planted saplings. Our wood comes from Hevea Brasiliensis. Not only is this hardwood environmentally friendly, it’s also strong. In independent lab tests, the wood from this tree underwent repetitive sequences of pressure at a certain weight and proved to be stronger than Northern Red Oak. At a young age, Hevea Brasiliensis is tapped for latex. When the tree has reached the end of its production cycle, it is then cut down and used for furniture production. Nothing goes to waste.
