Let’s talk about desks, shall we? Back in the day, a kid would go to school and sit behind these incredibly uncomfortable desks constructed of wood or plastic. When the wood seats would get old and splinter, that could be cause of many clothing snags and unwelcomed splinters. The tops would open and you placed your belongings inside the metal frame. Other styles offered a wire tray under your chair where you would place your belongings during class. Convenient for the old classrooms, but these are not the type of desks you want for your student residence. The dorm room should have a sturdy desk that offers sufficient storage. Perfect for small areas, this simple desk sets unobtrusively in a dorm room. The writing desk has a full-width pencil drawer in addition to a heavy duty metal drawer box.
The Pedestal Desk
The pedestal desk can fit right under a loft bed to get optimum space in your student room. 
It comes with a pencil drawer with removable dividers. Storing your items in the pedestal desk is convenient. It comes with a deep file drawer and two left side drawers.
Construction
University Loft Company uses the best construction methods available. Our solid hardwood casegoods are built strong and durable. We use frame-in-frame construction, full-length back panels with ¼ inch Dado, minimum ¾ wood sides, Mortise and Tenon joint frames, corner blocks, adjustable foot glides, and English dovetail drawers. The sides are stained and sealed. Because the tops are high pressure laminate, the desk is protected from moisture and dents.
Drawers
Our drawers are manufactured with four corner blocks. There are stretchers under the drawers for added bottom support. The drawer boxes are made with English dovetail joints. Included on all of them are finger pulls. And best of all (in my humble opinion), they come with full-extension drawer glides (or as I like to say, anti-arm breaking slides)!
