At University Loft, Our Commitment to Green Student Furniture Starts With a Plan

You’ve heard the saying, “Plan your work and work your plan,” right? It certainly sounds like a formula for success, and at University Loft, we believe it is. We believe that our Green Plan makes a world of difference in bringing to life our commitment to producing top quality, environmentally-friendly student furniture for college housing. (“Green” student furniture, that is.)

How important is having – and working – a plan? Well, you may have heard of the 1953 study of Yale University graduates, which supposedly followed the Yale grads twenty years after their graduation and found that the top three percent of those studied earned 10 times more money than the other 97 percent combined! Or maybe you have heard of the 1979 Harvard study with the same results. Unfortunately, these studies – despite being perpetuated in business mythology by Tony Robbins and Zig Ziglar, among others – apparently never happened. There has, however, been a recent study, conducted at Dominican University that appears to bear out the benefits of planning your work and working your plan.

Regardless of whether having a plan is supported by empirical or anecdotal evidence, the last part of this truism – working your plan – is surely the key to achieving significant results. That’s why University Loft’s Green Plan is more than just words on paper. It is part of our corporate culture. It’s ingrained in how we serve college students and our university housing clients by using Environmentally Farmed Timber (EFT) in our solid wood student furniture. ULoft’s Green Plan guides how we do business, and it helps us craft an environmental legacy for future generations. Yes, the benefits of University Loft’s Green Plan can be seen not only in college dorm rooms and student residences around the globe, but also outdoors in the trees we plant and, ultimately, in the cleaner air we breathe.

Take a closer look at our Green Plan and you’ll see why, at University Loft Company, we are confident that working our plan since 1999 has made it possible for us, year after year, to build great green student furniture and be a responsible steward of our environment.

Sounds like a plan, doesn’t it? A plan in action, that is.
