Concrete Plant Jumps First Hurdle? Our Rubber Tree Plant Can Top That!

For Strong Furniture, Choose University Loft Instead of a PretenderMy favorite wacky headline ever was the one that read, “Local Man Charged with Battery”. But another one recently appeared in my community newspaper that not only made me chuckle, it also made me think about University Loft’s solid wood student furniture. The headline? Concrete Plant Jumps First Hurdle. Why did it make me think of University Loft? Because our furniture uses a type of rubber tree that can truly do great things.

Aside from the Swiss Family treehouse in Disneyland that I’ve written about before, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a plant made of concrete. Okay, I know the headline meant a factory where concrete or related products are fabricated, but bear with me. The image of, say, a weighty concrete Petunia trying to jump over a hurdle at a track-and-field event seems pretty odd. But then again, some people find it hard to believe that the rubber tree plant used in University Loft’s dorm room furniture could be as talented as it is, too.

Our college student furniture is made from a tree called Hevea Brasiliensis, or HB. This environmentally farmed timber is not only stronger than the Northern Red Oak some college furniture manufacturers believe to be the gold standard in furniture material, it is also better for our environment in at least two ways: 1) it grows three times faster than red oak, so it can be harvested, used and replanted quicker, thus using less valuable growing land, and 2) it can be tapped for sap that is used in latex production during much of its growth cycle.

University Loft’s college furniture material might not be able to run the hurdles, but it can outperform other college furniture in the field where it is grown, in the test lab where it’s been proven stronger, and in the dorm room where it stands up to the toughest performance test of all – daily residence life by rough-and-tumble college students.

We think that deserves to make headlines the world over!
